My first paid acting job was in a magic show at a dusty and wild amusement park in the 80’s—Elitch Gardens in Denver, Colorado. Then: taking the bus to community theater roles as a high-schooler, to doing theater at Sarah Lawrence College and University of Iowa, Iowa Repertory theater, performing solo works at CalArts while getting my MFA in Photo/Media, and cutting my teeth in the spoken word poetry scenes (OK Hotel) and experimental theater scene (Annex Theater) in the 90’s.
